Mixed growth

In this piece I explore the procedural/generative plant growth and branching to visualize this beautiful, yet at times abrasive piece of music. Conceptually there is a lot going here, but the general aim was to capture the tracks artificial digital hard edged harshness, while holding on to some relevance to the underlying natural atmosphere that holds the track together.
Because it is a procedural piece, it will be different every time you watch it, sometimes reaching for the sky, other times heading on a wayward path or turning back in on itself. When the tree has finished growing, hit space for a special surprise.

The track is is ‘Seyefer’ from the free Sk’p EP. This and more of his awesome work can be found on soundcloud.com/skiponline.

Epic! Impressed by an apparently large number of objects and nice overall visual effect; I didn’t notice the curly ‘sparks’ (or are they film scratches) in the video, but did in the realtime. Seems that Unity’s web player has some good performance. :o )

Thanks for the kind words. The scratches are a post effect to make it look like film and yeh, Unity is where it’s at.
